Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao 
(born March 3, 1997) is a Cuban-born American singer who is a friend of Taylor Swift's. She is a former member of the all-female pop group Fifth Harmony.


Born in Cuba and raised in Miami, Florida, Camila first attracted attention when she tried out for season 2 of The X Factor. She didn't make it as a solo artist but was given another chance when she was put in a group with 4 other girls. On December 19th, 2016, Camila announced she had left the group.

The group, Fifth Harmony, which consists of Camila, Ally Brooke Hernandez, Dinah Jane Hansen, Normani Hamilton, and Lauren Jauregui, finished in 3rd place that season and got themselves a record deal with Epic Records. Their debut EP, Better Together, was released on October 22, 2013. It features the hit single, "Miss Movin' On". Their debut album, Reflection, was released on February 3, 2015 and features the hit singles, "Sledgehammer" and "Worth It". Fifth Harmony has toured extensively, even opening for Demi Lovato on her Neon Lights Tour in 2014. Their second album, 7/27, which features the hit "Work From Home", was released on May 27, 2016.

Friendship with Taylor

Camila became friends with Taylor through her former boyfriend, Austin Mahone, who is also friends with Taylor. Taylor even threw Camila a party for her eighteenth birthday. The guests included Selena Gomez, Hayley Williams, Sarah Hyland, and Zedd. She and her Fifth Harmony group mates even attended Taylor's Billboard Music Award after-party on May 17, 2015. Fifth Harmony even got to perform their mega hit "Worth It" with Taylor when the 1989 World Tour hit Santa Clara, California on August 14, 2015.

Personal Life

Camila had previously dated singer Austin Mahone in 2014.


  • Taylor's friend Demi Lovato was on the judging panel for season 2 of The X Factor. Camila and her group, Fifth Harmony, competed on that season with British record executive Simon Cowell as their mentor.
