Cara, who was born and raised in London, began her modeling career in 2009 after signing with Storm Model Management. She has walked in runway shows for designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Oscar de le Renta, and Chanel among others. She has been on the cover of various magazines such as Vogue UK and W magazine. She was even featured in the Victoria's Secret fashion show in 2012 and 2013.
Cara decided to quit modeling in 2015, citing stress as one of the reasons.
Cara made her feature film debut with a small role in the 2012 film Anna Karenina. She has since gone on to appear in several films such as Paper Towns, Kids in Love, and Tulip Fever. She even appeared as Mother Chucker in the Bad Blood music video. She will next be appearing as Enchantress in the upcoming 2016 film, Suicide Squad, which is based on the DC Comics antihero team of the same name.
In addition to modeling and acting, Cara has also dabbled in music. She and soul/jazz singer-songwriter Will Heard recorded an acoustic duet version of the song "Sonnentanz". She even teamed up with mega producer Pharrell Williams for the song "CC to the World", which was featured in the short Chanel film Reincarnation, which she and Williams appear in.
Cara, who is bisexual, is currently dating American singer St. Vincent (real name: Annie Clark). She confirmed the relationship in June 2015.
Friendship with Taylor SwiftEditCara and Taylor met when Taylor was performing at the 2013 Victoria's Secret fashion show where Cara was modeling. The two, who have mutual friends in common, have been seen in a YouTube video singing with Ed Sheeran, and Cara has even joined Taylor on stage during her 1989 World Tour. She was even with Taylor and several of their friends at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
