Elena Jane "Ellie" Goulding (born December 30, 1986) is an English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentlist who is a friend of Taylor Swift's.
Career[]
Born in Hereford, Herefordshire, England and raised in the nearby town of Lyonshall, Ellie first gained attention when her debut single "Under The Sheets" was released in 2009 and reached number 53 on the UK Singles Chart. Her debut album Lights was released in 2010 with the title track becoming a hit in the United States, peaking at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling 4 million copies in the US. She has gone on to release another album, Halcyon, which features the hit single "Burn".

She also scored another big hit with "Love Me Like You Do" from the soundtrack of the hit film Fifty Shades of Grey, which peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Goulding's third album, Delirium, was released on November 6, 2015.
Collaborations[]
In addition to writing and recording her own music, Goulding has collaborated with other artists such as Calvin Harris ("I Need Your Love" and "Outside") and rapper Tinie Tempah ("Wonderman") among others. In 2015 Ellie sung in "Powerful" Made by Major Lazer.
Personal life[]
Ellie was dating McFly bassist Dougie Poynter. She had previously dated DJ/producer and songwriter Skrillex. She married art dealer Casper Jopling on August 31, 2019 but announced their separation in February 2024. They have a son, Arthur, who was born in 2021.
Friendship with Taylor Swift[]
Ellie is good friends with Taylor, and they have mutual friends in common like singer Lorde. She even appeared in the Bad Blood music video as a character named Destructa X. Ellie later admitted to playing matchmaker for Taylor and Calvin Harris, telling The Sun newspaper in England that she thought that they would be "brilliant" together.
