The Hunger Games: Songs from District 12 and Beyond is the official companion album for the 2012 film The Hunger Games. "Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift and featuring The Civil Wars, was released as a promotional single for the soundtrack. Taylor Swift also wrote "Eyes Open" for the soundtrack.

Promotion[]

"Safe & Sound" by Taylor Swift featuring The Civil Wars, was released on December 23, 2011, as a promotional single. It reached number one on the iTunes overall charts in 12 hours. The music video for "Safe & Sound]]" was released on 13th February 2012. Along with separate songs from Swift and The Civil Wars, the soundtrack will also feature songs by The Decemberists, Maroon 5, Arcade Fire, The Secret Sisters, Miranda Lambert featuring The Pistol Annies, Neko Case, Kid Cudi Academy Award winner Glen Hansard, The Low Anthem, Punch Brothers, Birdy, Jayme Dee and Carolina Chocolate Drops. The soundtrack will be released on March 20, 2012.[4] The soundtrack track list was revealed on iTunes On 13th February 2012. Jennifer Lawrence singing "Rue's Lullaby" is not included in the soundtrack. On 14th February 2012, "One Engine" was released as the second promotional single by iTunes.
