Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, better known by her stage name, Katy Perry, (born on October 25, 1984) is an American pop singer-songwriter and actress who is one of Taylor Swift's friends. Perry has mentioned it during interviews, and they have been seen hanging in public.

In addition to being a friend of Taylor's, Perry has acheived success herself with two platnuim-selling albums, 2008's One of the Boys and 2010's Teenage Dream. Her numorous hits include "I Kissed A Girl", "California Gurls", "Part of Me", and "Wide Awake".

On April 15, 2010, at a Taylor Swift concert in Los Angeles, at the Staples Center, Taylor surprised her audience by having Perry rise from the stage to join her to sing “Hot N Cold”.

Perry, who was previously married to British comedian and actor Russell Brand, later dated one of Taylor's ex-boyfriends, singer-songwriter John Mayer.
