She is signed with Big Machine Records and as of October 2014, has released 5 studio albums, Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, and 1989. By the beginning of 2015 Taylor had sold over 40 million albums, 130 million single downloads and was one of the top five music artists with the highest worldwide digital sales. As of the beginning of 2015 each of Swift's studio albums had sold at least four million units in the U.S: Fearless (6.9 million), Taylor Swift (5.5 million), Speak Now (4.5 million), Red (4.1 million) and 1989 (4 million). Swift has been nominated a total of 146 times, and has won 89 awards.[2]

Grammy Awards

The Grammy Award are presented annually by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences of the United States for outstanding achievements in the music industry. The awards were established in 1958. At the 52nd Grammy Awards, Swift became the youngest artist ever to win the coveted Grammy for Album of the Year and the first solo country act to ever take home the top honor.[3]

The Academy of Country Music Awards is an annual country music awards show, established in 1964. Taylor Swift has been nominated a total of fourteen times, winning three of those awards, one of which was the Crystal Milestone Award.[4][5] The 2009 win of Fearless in the Album Of The Year category made Swift the youngest artist in ACM history to win the award.[6]

Country Music Association Awards

The Country Music Association Awards is an annual country music awards show, established in 1967. Taylor Swift has been nominated a total of 8 times, winning 6 of those awards. Swift has also received the International Artist Achievement Award. At age 19 Swift is the youngest artist to ever be nominated for, and win, the award for Entertainer of the Year.[9][10] Swift also received the "International Artist Achievement Award", which recognizes outstanding U.S.-based artists who contribute the awareness and development of country music throughout the world.[11] Swift became the first female country singer to be nominated for 5 or more awards since Reba McEntire was nominated for 7 awards back in 1994.

BMI Awards

The Broadcast Music, Incorporated (BMI) Awards is an annual award show hosted for the purpose of giving awards to songwriters. Songwriters are selected each year from the entire BMI catalog, based on the amount of performances during the award period. At the 56th annual BMI awards, "Teardrops on My Guitar", a song co-written by Taylor Swift and Liz Rose, took home the honor, "Country Song of the Year".[13] Beside Teardrops on My Guitar, Tim McGraw and Our Song both earned the honors of "BMI Award Winning Song" in 2007 and 2008 respectively.[14][15]

At the BMI's 57th Annual Pop Awards in 2009, Taylor Swift's crossover hit Teardrops on My Guitar earned a BMI Pop Award. In addition to that, Swift also received the BMI President’s Award, which honors an exceptional individual in the entertainment industry deserving of special recognition. The BMI President’s Award is presented only on unique occasions when an individual has distinctly and profoundly influenced the industry.[16]

At the BMI's Annual Country Awards in 2009, Swift won the prestigious "Song of the Year" award for her single "Love Story." She also received awards for "Picture to Burn" and "Should've Said No." [17]

At 2010, her hit single "You Belong With Me" won the "Song of the Year" award and she became the youngest person who has won the "Country Songwriter of the Year".[18]

At the end of 2009, the Associated Press named Swift "Entertainer of the Year".[37]

In February 2010, Swift was awarded "Most Digital Song Certifications - Female Solo Artist" by RIAA for 25 songs achieving gold or multi- platinum status.[38]

Early in November 2010, Swift's third album sold 1,047,000 copies in its debut week, making it the first album to do so since 2005.

Later in November 2010, Swift was named "Entertainer of the Year" by Entertainment Weekly making her the youngest Entertainment Weekly's Entertainer of the Year.[39]
