Selena Marie Gomez (born July 22, 1992) is an American singer and actress. She is best known for portraying Alex Russo in the hit Disney comedy, Wizards of Waverly Place. She is also the lead singer of the band Selena Gomez and The Scene.
Selena is best friends with Taylor Swift. They have been seen at many red-carpet events and even went to a Notre Dame football game together. They hang out a lot, and Selena calls Taylor her "Mentor" and has even described her as an "old soul". They also sung Who Says together. Gomez once told radio host Ryan Seacrest. Taylor has also sat with Selena, along with Katy Perry on the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards.
Taylor had been there for Selena especially after her breakup with her boyfriend of two years, Justin Bieber. The two even recently talked via FaceTime with their friend, Demi Lovato. Despite rumors, Selena and Justin Bieber have not gotten back together. There are reports, however, that Taylor's friendship with New Zealand singer Lorde, who has been very critical of Selena in various interviews, may have strained their friendship. This was later proven not to be true when the two were later seen at the Met Gala in New York. Taylor even attended the American Music Awards in 2014 with Lorde to support Selena when she performed her single "The Heart Wants What It Wants".Later in 2015,they attended at the VMAs in 2015 with Cara Delevigne and more. One year later she and Taylor attended at the Grammys 2016.
Selena is now working on her third solo album, and relesead her singles "Bad Liar" and "Fetish".
